Chris Walker
"I am an artist who enjoys creating paintings inspired by my own photographs, using them as a starting point to explore enhanced colours, light and atmosphere.

Working primarily in gouache on black paper, I love the unique challenge   and possibilities of this medium which allows highlights and vibrant colours to emerge from a dark background.

I aim to transform familiar scenes into expressive compositions, encouraging the viewer to explore the relationship between photography and painted interpretation".

Ruth J Saunders
"Since retiring in 2024, after a 40-year career as a nurse, I was fortunate   to join a local art class at the Linskill centre, Tynemouth. I have attended   these classes now for over two years where I am continually learning   different painting techniques which has led me to specialising in Gouache medium on black paper.

I enjoy painting all forms of nature especially landscapes, animals and   birds.  Being able to capture images through bright colours and intricate detail on   each painting gives me immense pleasure. Hopefully when people view my   paintings, they will enjoy seeing them and feel uplifted."

Heather Howarth

"My love of all things organic inspires my artwork, particularly Natures   shapes and textures. I work in acrylics, pastels and ink to express mood and narrative. Recent exhibitions include Woodhorn, the Summer Show Newcastle and various other venues. I also take commissions from   time to time."
