Film At The Hearth presents...
THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE (15)
Saturday 24th October 2026, 7.30pm (doors 7pm).
Step into the shadows this Halloween season with Guillermo del Toro’s haunting Spanish-language ghost story.
Set in a remote orphanage during the final days of the Spanish Civil War, The Devil’s Backbone follows young Carlos, who arrives at the school and begins to encounter a mysterious ghost. But the real horrors may be closer to home…
Atmospheric, beautifully crafted and genuinely unsettling, this acclaimed 2001 film blends supernatural chills with a powerful story about childhood, loss and the lingering scars of war.
A haunting choice for an Autumn night with Film at the Hearth.
