support the hearth

The Hearth Centre (Horsley) Ltd is the charitable company that manages The Hearth, with the help of our Administrator / Centre Co-ordinator and Caretaker. The Hearth is led by a group of voluntary trustees, who are also directors of the Hearth Centre (Horsley) Ltd.

The  Arts Centre is a unique venue renowned for its extensive range of creative workshops and classes, talks, live music,  performance, film, and community groups. Facilities include 8 working artist studios and a popular family-run Café. The community hall and hub are hireable spaces within the grounds of our beautiful Grade 2 listed building. With over 20,000 visitors each year it holds a special place in the hearts of many.

The Hearths mission is to create a sustainable and resilient arts venue that supports our tenants, emerging creative talent and enterprise whilst extending our cultural offer and access to the arts via partnerships with cultural organisations catering for communities within rural areas. Hospitality is provided by the Hearth Cafe, which is a commercial business.  Income is generated from tenants rents, ticket sales, hall hire alongside public sector and charitable trust investment and some private donations.

BECOME A TRUSTEE

DO YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR THE ARTS & CREATIVE COMMUNITIES?

Become a Trustee and utilise your skill sets to help shape the strategic direction of The Hearth Charity.

Play a hugely important role in our organisation as a Trustee and Board member. Help in defining the strategy and plans for the Hearth and oversee the operations and work of the staff and are expected to make a commitment to attend monthly meetings.  Trustees can also become more involved with sub-committees and particular aspects of planning and operations if they wish to do so, and are in a position to give the additional time.

We need a diverse skill set on the board, reflecting the communities we serve and contributing relevant experience or training including fundraising, experience with volunteers, creative project management, working with partnership organisations, marketing amongst but a few. There are always opportunities for people to find out more about what is involved with the role, prior to deciding whether this is the right role for them.
