Textile Workshop with Jessica Kinnersley

Sunday 18th October 10am-3:45pm

Jessica's first workshop since lockdown will be a new take on an old favourite: Sycamore Gap.

In this workshop we will be using circular vintage linens as a base, which, to the best of my knowledge, were originally used as bun proving pockets. (If anyone can add to this I would love to know!)  Sycamore Gap is a place I like to photograph and visit at different times of the year.  Working from images of this local landmark, we will layer and build a textile collage. Using a photograph, printed onto cotton as a starting point, you will be encouraged to build up colour and texture using basic hand embroidery stitches and snippets of fabric from my stash to create surface texture and interest. Fabric pens will also be supplied should you wish to add stitched words or sentiments to your piece.

All materials and images will be provided in packs and although some basic knowledge of hand sewing is useful, it is not essential – beginners are very welcome!

Cost is £45 which can be paid via bank transfer, cash or cheque.

Hypnobirthing Course

Sunday 27th September & Saturday 3rd October, 10am - 4pm

Congratulations on your pregnancy and best wishes for the birth of your baby!

I'm Lindsey Joy a.k.a Bodhi Mama - Hypnobirthing & Well-being. I'm hosting a Covid-19 Secure, face-to-face Hypnobirthing Course at the Hearth – would you and your birth partner like to join me?

Hypnobirthing gives you the knowledge and the tools to have the best childbirth for you:

  • You can use it in any type of birth scenario - in the birth centre; on the delivery suite; during a caesarean or induction.

  • It helps you to release fear and learn to trust your body, your instinct, and your baby.

  • It teaches you what happens to your body during labour.

  • You learn a set of techniques which focus on relaxation, breathing and visualisation.

  • It gives you (and your birth partner) the time and space to build your confidence and prepare for labour.

  • This confidence can also help you make decisions about what you want, like where and how you want to give birth. You need to understand the implications of the choices you may be required to make.

•’ll meet other ‘soon to be parents’ and enjoy bottomless snacks!

£199 per couple.
