Horsley Village Church invites you to come along to a 'Northumbrian Evening' featuring local duo Roddy Matthews (fiddle and vocals) and James Tait (acoustic piano)
Roddy has performed widely throughout the British Isles and further afield. He is particularly drawn to the local repertoire of Northumberland. James writes original songs and is famed for his local Northumbrian dialect poetry. The duo will share their music and life stories, along with their faith.
Roddy writes: “I am a well known fiddle player having
performed throughout the country and abroad over many years and especially throughout Scotland and Northumberland. I have a lovely selection of local traditional tunes from Northumberland and further afield.
James Tait is from Barrowburn in Coquetdale and is a music teacher in the north of the county . He writes his own songs and music and is famed for his local Northumbrian dialect poetry.” Roddy and James will share their music and life stories along with their faith, whilst entertaining us with great originality.
Horsley Village Church can be entered via the Hearth Arts Centre.
