It is Jane Austen’s 250th Birthday this year She was born on 16 December 1775). In this workshop we celebrate this most talented and witty novelist who broke the boundaries of writing, was astute into divining the underlying motives within relationships at the time and in the end gave us a good plot which keeps us reading to the end.
I will provide you with a portrait of Jane as the centre piece of a collage which you will make on to hand painted damask. We will use pretty fabrics, you could include a quote and we will look at embroidery traditions of her time which you might like to take on to your work.
