Join us for a delightful creative day of yoga and fabric printing. We'll begin with some gentle yet energising yoga, releasing tension from the body with soft, flowing movement, then settling into restorative still poses. The morning will include breathwork and meditation, finishing with a refreshing deep relaxation practice (Yoga Nidra).

In the afternoon we'll work with local printmaker Ali Wilkes to design and make a collection of printed fabric pieces. We'll transfer liquid colour (disperse dyes) onto synthetic fabrics using a heat press. Ali will guide us through the different techniques, including collage, stencils and natural forms to create resist prints, as well as tracing and direct application to develop multi layered pieces. You will leave with a collection of printed fabric pieces which you could develop further with stitch or use within your own sewing project.

The day includes a delicious lunch and cake courtesy of the Hearth cafe, with hot drinks, snacks and all tuition and materials.

No previous experience of yoga or printing required – just a desire to enjoy a feel-good day of creative activity and nourishing yoga in the beautiful venue of the Hall at the Hearth Art Centre.
