Thursday 26th July, 7.30pm
The Archives of the Duke of Northumberland fill a whole tower at Alnwick Castle, being one of the largest private archives in the country. The content dates from the 12th century to the present and forms a very rich historical resource. The talk will explore recent discoveries of source material from the archives which have become the centrepieces of exhibitions at the Castle. Christopher Hunwick has been Archivist at the Castle now for more than a decade and is well placed to give an insight into what goes on within the walls of the Record Tower.
£5 on the door, includes refreshments. Entry is free to those aged 21 and under, thanks to a generous donation from The Hedley Foundation.
