The Hearth Centre charity is seeking a Volunteer Trustee to support

with management of its buildings and facilities.

We are seeking to appoint a ‘Buildings’ Trustee to work with our Board of Volunteer Trustees. The Board has full responsibility for all aspects of the Charity’s services, however each trustee picks up varying areas of responsibility. This voluntary, flexible post would require a commitment of 6 – 8 hours per month, mainly working from home.

Duties would include; facilities management, the appointing of contractors for work and repairs on site plus the overseeing of our energy consumption. There is also the opportunity to support projects which might be of special interest to yourself.

The Hearth Arts Centre is a Community Hub well recognised for arts and events, and a venue for workshops and classes, history talks and live music as well as environmental projects.  Open 7 days a week, facilities include 8 artists' studios, a very popular family-run café  and a community hall which occupy two beautiful Grade 2 listed buildings.  Overall we attract over 20,000 visitors a year with a turnover of just under £60,000.

This post would offer an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the local and wider community in ensuring the sustainability of this well-established and successful local Community hub.

The Trustee post will be built around the individual – working to your own strengths and interests.
