A day of observational drawing celebrating the colours, shapes and textures of the autumn harvest in this class exploring the versatile, soft hues of Unison Colour Pastels with artist and teacher, Jenny Purrett.

WILD AND WISE- Re-connecting with our wild and wise selves

with Margaret Bird

Saturday 30 September 9.30 - 5pm

Growing up as girls we may have been unable to express our connection with our wild nature, for many reasons.  Making our way in the world as women we may still find ourselves detached somehow from our deeper wild wisdon. This one-day personal development workshop for women offers a chance to meet with and learn from our wise and wild self in a safe, supported setting. DAFT AS A DUCK

With Jina Gelder

Sunday 1st October, 10.30am - 4pm


Learn how to paint a quirky, characterful duck using ink and watercolours. During the course of the day you will learn some new techniques for using these mediums and develop a duck painting with personality and life. By the end of the lesson your duck should be ready to waddle away!

This course is open to all abilities, and materials are provided.

PHOTOGRAPHING ART WORKSHOP

With Northumberland College

Saturday 7th October, 10am - 1pm 

This course is for anyone who wants to take better photographs of their Art or Craft work.  Learn how to take images for Websites, business cards, promotions etc under the expert tuition of our professional photographer. 

You will learn how to take photographs to make the most out of your Art or Craft work, you will learn staging, simple lighting techniques and camera settings.  Image manipulation techniques will be discussed.  You will need to bring your own camera.

DRAWING FOR THE TERRIFIED

With Jenny Purrett

Saturday 14th October, 10am - 4pm

A class for anyone who has always wanted to be able to draw: you’ll discover that you can!  With artist and teacher Jenny Purrett you will look at ways that you can tap into the drawing side of your brain and then develop a few techniques to get you drawing from observation.

This session is designed to  allay any fears and will enable you to join other art classes with confidence, or simply draw for fun!

The Hearth Wool Group

Second and Fourth Tuesday of the Month, 1.15 - 3.15pm

Whatever your woolly interest (knitting, spinning, weaving, crochet, sheep, feltmaking) or level of skill, bring along some of your own work and spend a couple of hours with like-minded people to chat, skill-share, network.  This is a drop-in session, not a formal class or course. 

The Hearth Wool Group will meet in the Hearth's hall on the SECOND and FOURTH Tuesday of each month, 1.15pm - 3.15pm.  Please come along - we'd love to see you.  There will be a £3.50 charge towards hall hire and refreshments.

Singing Babies & Squeaky Feet

Singing Babies & Squeaky Feet with live music, songs and a variety of instruments. Sessions stimulate and engage young babies and children. Parents, grandparents & child minders can all enjoy the chance to take part, and afterwards socialise over fresh coffee and carrot cake.

Singing Babies is designed for babies in their first years, whilst Squeaky Feet focuses on the confident walkers.
