Northumberland College’s Leisure Learning programme continues with the following classes in the Hearth Hall.   For more information about each class and how to book please click on the links.
Spanish for Beginners – 5 weeks starting Wednesday 1st March, 6pm – 8pm
Creative Writing – 5 weeks starting Thursday 2nd March, 6pm – 8pm
Stained Glass for Beginners – 4 weeks starting Friday 3rd March, 10am – 12pm
Guitar, Banjo and Ukulele for Beginners – 4 weeks starting Friday 3rd March, 6pm – 8pm

Bead and Jewellery-making workshop, Saturday 1st April, 10am - 1pm Make beads from Polymer clay, these will then be baked and made into a necklace or bracelet.  To book, see Northumberland College's website here

These  Spring workshops are run by Natalie Henderson who specialises in upcycling fine vintage materials into gorgeous contemporary pieces.

The Saturday workshops run from 10-4 and cost £45 which includes all materials, coffee, lunch and afternoon tea.

Natalie’s driftwood cottages and seaglass jewellery have been on display recently at Hexham’s  Queens Hall.

Come and make your own painted driftwood scenes and some unique jewellery using seaglass and pottery retrieved from North East beaches. We will be drilling, hammering, painting… And making the tiniest bunting ever seen!

Creative Drawing

Thursdays 9.30am-12.00noon, and 1pm - 3.30pm

Creative Drawing is a regular class which aims to explore a variety of different approaches in order to enable you to develop your drawing skills. Each week, Jenny plans specific activities which focus on a particular theme so, whilst the course aims to build your skills, each week is a stand alone workshop. It is a relaxed, friendly group and Jenny is a knowledgeable and experienced tutor.

If you would like to join the group, there are places. Have a trial session and then decide whether you would like to sign up for the rest of the term. The Hearth Wool Group

Whatever your woolly interest (knitting, spinning, weaving, crochet, sheep, feltmaking) or level of skill, bring along some of your own work and spend a couple of hours with like-minded people to chat, skill-share, network.  This is a drop-in session, not a formal class or course. 

The Hearth Wool Group will meet in the Hearth's hall on the SECOND and FOURTH Tuesday of each month, 12.45pm - 2.45pm, beginning 14th April.  Please come along - we'd love to see you.  There will be a £3.50 charge towards hall hire and refreshments.

Singing Babies & Squeaky Feet

Singing Babies & Squeaky Feet with live music, songs and a variety of instruments. Sessions stimulate and engage young babies and children. Parents, grandparents & child minders can all enjoy the chance to take part, and afterwards socialise over fresh coffee and carrot cake.

Singing Babies is designed for babies in their first years, whilst Squeaky Feet focuses on the confident walkers.
