MAD ABOUT HARES

 With Jina Gelder

Friday 18th August, 10.30am - 4pm

Come along and learn how to paint hares using ink and watercolours. During the course of the day you will learn some new techniques for using these mediums and develop a hare painting with character and life. By the end of the lesson your hare should look ready to leap off the paper!

This class is suitable for all abilities and materials are included.

BUILD A CERAMIC SLAB VESSEL

With Sara Jane Palmer

Saturday 2 September and Saturday 16 September 10am – 4pm

  

This 2-day class, led by Hearth Artist Sara Jane Palmer, is suitable for beginners and intermediates.   You will learn how to make a vessel out of clay slabs by rolling slabs and joining them to make a plate, a bowl or vase.  You are welcome to bring a vessel you would like to use as a mould, or build your pot freestyle.  Clay, slips and glazes will be provided.

Your work will be fired for you to decorate the second session.

Tea and coffee are provided, and delicious lunches are available from the Hearth Café (not included), or bring your own packed lunch.

Cost £85 for both days, tools and materials included.

DAFT AS A DUCK

DRAWING FOR THE TERRIFIED

Saturday 14th October, 10am - 4pm

A class for anyone who has always wanted to be able to draw: you’ll discover that you can!  With artist and teacher Jenny Purrett you will look at ways that you can tap into the drawing side of your brain and then develop a few techniques to get you drawing from observation.

This session is designed to  allay any fears and will enable you to join other art classes with confidence, or simply draw for fun!

The Hearth Wool Group

Second and Fourth Tuesday of the Month, 1.15 - 3.15pm

Whatever your woolly interest (knitting, spinning, weaving, crochet, sheep, feltmaking) or level of skill, bring along some of your own work and spend a couple of hours with like-minded people to chat, skill-share, network.  This is a drop-in session, not a formal class or course. 

The Hearth Wool Group will meet in the Hearth's hall on the SECOND and FOURTH Tuesday of each month, 1.15pm - 3.15pm.  Please come along - we'd love to see you.  There will be a £3.50 charge towards hall hire and refreshments.

Singing Babies & Squeaky Feet

Singing Babies & Squeaky Feet with live music, songs and a variety of instruments. Sessions stimulate and engage young babies and children. Parents, grandparents & child minders can all enjoy the chance to take part, and afterwards socialise over fresh coffee and carrot cake.

Singing Babies is designed for babies in their first years, whilst Squeaky Feet focuses on the confident walkers.
