The Hearth came into existence in 2004 as an outreach community initiative supported by the village church and a variety of funding agencies and private donations.
The name was chosen because it included the word ART and each letter represented a part of the project:
H for Horsley and heritage, E for environment, A for art, R for rural enterprise and T for tea.
Our aim was to develop the life of the village and the wider community.
