Kim Lewis has written and illustrated over 20 picture books for children, which have been translated into several languages and sold worldwide. Originally trained as a fine artist, she is now illustrating poetry and texts for exhibition, using wood engraving, linocuts, etching, drawing and lithography.

Through the Garden Gate is a new pamphlet of poems by Linda France, as a result of her Leverhulme Residency at Newcastle University's Moorbank Botanic Garden. Kim has illustrated the poems with 9 delicate pencil drawings. An exhibition of these, and four new large drawings, will be at the Robinson-Gay Gallery in Hexham from 14 April to 18 May. The pamphlet is available for sale in Kim's studio at The Hearth.
